Well what can I say, from day one with my first consultation with Ben Spiegelberg I felt totally relaxed in his company, he made me feel so relaxed and I knew he was the right surgeon for me, what a lovely man and brilliant surgeon he is, I can not recommend him highly enough, I had a total hip replacement in August and am amazed how quickly I am recovering. My operation was performed at Spires Bushey.

Having seen Mr Speigelberg in July 2019 for an initial consultation there was no hesitation in putting me forward for a total left hip replacement. Attending the Orthopaedic Practitioners Clinic for their 2 hour Information talk was a huge help in understanding the whole procedure. Although I waited 8 months before I had an op date it all went ahead as planned. Despite being very nervous the whole team at St Albans Hospital Orthopaedic Centre were so caring, helpful, reassuring but always professional from the Nurses, HCAs, Doctors, Anaesthetists, Theatre team and a huge Thankyou to Mr Speigelberg for a successful hip replacement.

very clear information provided and gives you every confidence that you are in safe hands for a total knee replacement. operation went very well, recovery took time but in no doubt that knee would fully recover

I had both knees partially replaced. On both occasions Mr Spiegelberg explained the procedure to me and put my mind totally at ease.
My after care was very good and I was back on my feet in no time.

Thank you Dr Spiegelberg for the amazing knee replacement operation, it has taken away the great pain I was feeling before. Recovery was very good, after 6 weeks I was able to walk without any aids. I am also very happy with the way my knee looks after the operation. All the best, Ana D

Mr. Ben Spiegelberg is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in adult hip and knee surgery. He underwent specialist training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore and subsequent Specialist Registrar training on the Oxford registrar rotation centred at Oxford University. He spent a year in Canada on the internationally renowned University of Western Ontario Adult Reconstruction Fellowship program prior to being appointed Consultant at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Mr Spiegelberg sees and treats many orthopaedic conditions and fractures. His sub-specialty interests are hip and knee surgery, including knee and hip replacement, partial knee replacement, arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), cartilage transplantation and revision (redo) joint replacements.
